The Titan Takes Controlling Stake in Port Vane Tribune
Lester T. Briggs has taken a controlling stake in the Port Vane Tribune, extending his media holdings beyond New Atlas and adding one of the coast’s oldest regional papers to a portfolio already spanning print, property and distribution.
The deal is understood to value the Tribune at $18.6 million, with Briggs acquiring 62% of voting shares through Titan Holdings. Executives say the paper will retain its name, newsroom and local identity while gaining access to wider printing, advertising and circulation networks.
Briggs called the acquisition “a vote of confidence in regional journalism.” Further expansion has not been ruled out. The house always wins.
